About Edwards

What a rich history! Benjamin F. Edwards was born out of our legacy firm, A.G. Edwards and Sons, which was started in 1887! I am thankful Albert Gallatin Edwards did not believe in retirement. He was 75 years young when he founded the firm. A little more recent history -  here I am as a young advisor (they called us stock brokers back then), shaking hands with Benjamin F. Edwards III, the great grandson of A.G. Edwards. This photo was taken circa 1996 in our downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa office. Ben was a man of great integrity. As the CEO of a large publicly traded firm (15,000 employees) Ben was very busy but never too busy for others. Even though he had a great assistant, he actually answered his own phone! As a rookie in 1993 while attending training classes in St. Louis, I was honored to attend church with Ben and even sit in on the Sunday school class he taught! Today, Ben's son, Tad Edwards is the CEO of Benjamin F. Edwards, and it is an honor to work with the next generation of the Edwards family!
